An ancient system of footpaths (and now rail) connect the five villages, Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. Each of the villages has something different to offer.

- Enjoying the Cinque Terre from the water, like Venice it opens your eyes to a completely new experience. Take a boat tour, morning afternoon or evening, add in swimming, snorkeling or even a local meal.
- Local cooking classes, private or shared in or around the area.
- An absolutely must if you are a wine buff is one of their local wine tours, shared or private tours are available.
- Take the day or a few hours to snorkel in the Cinque Terre
- Do it on your own or with a skipper, there are so many sailing options available to you.
- If walking is what you do then you must enjoy the trails between the villages (plan ahead, some can be closed).
