Iceland Fjords

Iceland is about 4 times smaller than California. If you are looking for a kid-friendly family vacation, Iceland has it all. Mystery and beauty, the ‘Ice’ and the ‘Fire’. This Nordic island is made up of so many contrasts, magnificent waterfalls, spectacular glaciers, ice caves, volcanoes, blue lagoons, geothermal hot springs, beautiful beaches (black ones!), folklore and wonderful wildlife. Choose wisely because you can enjoy a 3-day break, a one-week vacation or an extended 14-day life changing experience.

Why Iceland is a great destination for families with kids

You will be spoilt for choice with endless options for outdoor fun.  Not only is Iceland one of the safest countries to travel to, but it also has a very family friendly culture. Diversity is the one word that springs to mind. There are activities to appreciate and enjoy for all ages, and interests. National parks, public pools, hot springs, lagoons, whale watching …. plus waterfalls, snowmobiling, horse riding, helicopter flips, glacier expeditions, snorkelling, hiking, biking, kayaking, paragliding and if you are lucky enough…. the Northern Lights – what more could you ask for? Thanks to the Gulf Stream, Iceland enjoys a cool, temperate climate, with refreshing summers and surprisingly mild temperatures in winter.

How long would you vacation in Iceland?

We recommend at least a 7 day break. Extending this to 10 days means that you will have the opportunity to spend more time in each location, so 7 days is sufficient. A 7 day vacation can include all the cultural highlights as well as some glaciers, lava fields, waterfalls, national parks, villages AND the Northern Lights (if you travel in a winter advantage).
