Hotel Review

Borgo Pignano Hotel Review

I fell in love with Borgo Pignano the moment I set foot on its soil, I can’t explain it but there was an immediate sense of tranquillity that came over me, you know the feeling when you pour your first gin and tonic or glass of wine after a long day? I have arrived!

Location

They call themselves a Tuscan haven and that is exactly what they are. You will find the property amidst the Tuscan rolling hills in the Province of Pisa not far from Florence. This elegant agriturismo (working farm with accommodation) offers style, charm, beautiful accommodations, excellent food and service and a home away from home. This haven will suit travelers and families of all ages.

My recommendation would be not to spend less than 5 days at Borgo Pignano; honestly this gives you just enough time to relax, sample the food and wine, enjoy the personal services they have to offer and take time to visit towns and villages in the area, ideally I would spend a week there. Anything less and you are going to leave feeling despair, like you missed out on something and so the need to get back there are soon as possible. I have had clients returning to this property year on year and have even had clients call me and ask me to amend their vacations to allow them to extend their time at Borgo Pignano…and we had to serve an eviction notice once on one client!!

There is something on the menu for everyone. This self-sufficient property produces its own olives, soap, cereals and grains, organic flours, honey, oil and wine – all of which you can sample whilst you are there. And if you are the curious type you will have the opportunity to see how they grow their products and how they make their soaps, honey and wines.

The villa also houses their fine dining Villa Pignano restaurant where you can linger over breakfast on the patio or in the restaurant, enjoy a drink in their cosy bar or a magnificent fine dining experience in their restaurant in the evening.  I did say there was something for everyone, enjoy a meal in their Al Fresco restaurant (yes, there is pizza and pasta on the menu).  Be sure not to leave Borgo Pignano without enjoying a refreshing cocktail and the sunset on the Belvedere where you will be captivated by the beautiful sunsets, (I did this one more than one occasion).

Sold. I can’t wait to show this property to Donald!! It reminds me of one of the places you all booked for us in Morocco.

    1. There is something so unique and special about this place. It might not be off-the-chart 5 stars but the staff, service and Tuscan charm is what makes this place unforgettable. Clients of ours book for the following year on departure year after year. It’s hard to find a property like this elsewhere in Tuscany. We’ll put your and Donald’s name on the list for visiting this property.
